So you know when the latest kid comes to town and everyone wants to know what the hype is about? Yup that’s what took my girls and I to Brasa.

Like any serious establishments which understands consumer behavior, Brasa had gone hard with their social media campaign on Instagram ensuring their feed was replete with beautiful people dining there and equally beautiful pictures of their menu .

And these things work!

My girls and i hadn’t gone out forever due to of course COVID-19 and  all the restrictions we have been subjected to, so when the President of Ghana eased down measures , of course Brasa was our first stop!

Because of COVID-19 and following safety protocols, you must book a reservation to be allowed entry .

It’s very important you do so otherwise you either a) is refused entry or

b) asked to wait the bar for the next available table which might spoil your party mood. So please do call to make a reservation

You’re sent their house rules when your booking is confirmed

THE REVIEW:

Ambience:

They put work into the design and decor so it has classy feel to it . My friend Olivia used the word ‘’fancy’’ to describe the place because they insist on dress code so everyone comes there dressed to the nines and the staff are well attired : the waiters were dressed differently, the hostess who were mostly men all had powder blue jacket and the two Arab descent Restaurant managers were looked snazzy too.

As you step your foot into the restaurant, you are welcomed by the magnificent urban setting, with chandeliers and beautiful artwork on the walls . Every table gives you a clear view of the chef working in the kitchen.

Food

I mean that’s why we went there right ? Haha .

On their Instagram page bio  https://instagram.com/brasa.gh?igshid=1h1p29m8enhti , they have everything grills so it presupposes that lots of grilled food

They had an interesting menu with a variety to choose from . Definitely wouldn’t be spoilt for choice even the vegetarian because I saw a lot of vegetables options in the menu so Yea very inclusive

We had the chicken wings and prawns skewers as starters and i must say both tasted very good. Well cooked and the spices ( not pepper ) hit the right notes 😄

For the main we all had Pan Fried grouper with different side orders ; I had it with fried yam butter , Olivia had it with steamed vegetables and Linda had it with permesan fries.

It was an all round win for the three of us .

Drinks

The Drinks selection was also thorough with the usual suspects of cocktails, wines , spirits etc.

Between the three of us, we had two glasses each of cocktails and Prosecco ,so a total of 6 drinks and additional tequila shots for Linda and i (because what’s a night out without tequila)? 🤣

Desserts

We were stuffed by dessert time but we still had to try so Linda and I shared a bowl of Brasa ice cream and i must say it’s the most delicious ever ! Please try that one if you decide to go there , really tasty

Pricing

I think it’s a range from high, moderately high to expensive so ultimately everyone is catered for .

The most expensive item on the menu was GHC495 and that was for some beef from Omaha in the USA .

Between the three of us , our bill came down to GHC1000 for starters, drinks, main and dessert which I believe is decent right ?

Service

I think their timely service was the most impressive. It was quick , their waiters were very attentive and you had the hostess coming around to find out if you were ok. If they keep that up, they would be around for a while . Shoutouts to our waiter Jennifer or was it Jessica? Lol yea Jennifer.

Hygiene

The restaurant area as expected was clean but i usually assess how clean a place is by visiting their toilets because that’s the true test.

I loved their toilet ! It’s like a pod : each cubicle has the toilet, the mirror, the wash hand basin , the dryer and paper towels. So basically you can take your selfie in your cubicle without anyone giving you side eyes and there’s a stationary janitor outside so the place is kept clean round the clock

Pros

  1. Great ambiance with eclectic decor and beautiful guest.

  2. Adequate parking space and security

  3. Attentive staff

  4. The menu offers a wide variety of delicious and mouth-watering starters followed by the main.

  5. Location wise ,easy to locate

  6. Instagram worthy photo optics

  7. Loved the uniformity of the chinaware, you might not pay attention to it but I know there’s a psychological effect of it somewhere to give you a great dining experience.

Cons

  1. I don’t agree with the 2hr seating policy because then it makes you feel rushed and gives you the impression that they’re more about raking in money for the night than a guest having an experience. Yes I get the idea that it is a business but don’t make me feel like you’re all about my money .

  2. Hated that we had to pay for shito and green pepper when you order the mains. What kind of rip off is that ? How do you expect me to eat yam chips without shito or green sauce? And ask me to pay for it separately? It’s like buying waakye or kenkey and saying you buy the shito separately ,Such a turn off .

  3. Yes the decor is nice but the painting on the wall is busy. They could have stuck with a minimalist look .

Rating

Its a new restaurant, everything is spiffy and fresh over there, they’re in their honeymoon phase so of course premium service therefore going to rate them 4 out of 5 ⭐️ .
Hopefully, they would be consistent with this kind of service

Wait! Did you think i was going to write this without featuring a picture of myself there ? Ah why ? 🤣🤣🤣
